On the occasion of the exhibition Ara Rock Festival on March 5, I Think interviewed Celeste Carboni , singer Aedi (www.myspace.com / aedimusic), an indie band from Macerata and composed, as well as by Celeste (vocals and keyboards), Paolo Tica '(guitar, drum, synth, casio), Jones More (bass), Claudio Love (guitar, glockenspiel), Filippo Heels (drums).


Celeste, who were the bards and why this moniker? The
Aedi were the singers of ancient Greece. We took this name for the musical idea and not making the kind which is associated with even because it is impossible to reproduce. For we do not use sound similar to popular music or sing in Italian.

The bards told stories: your songs of what they talk about?
There are some major themes: descriptions are mostly linked to visual sensations. The texts are very short. The item is used as a musical instrument and has the task of transmitting emotions. Our music is an image.


How the inspiration that generates clicks and your songs? Take
when someone decides to do something, is not an instinctive thing, at least in my case. I think I try to picture and describe the sounds. Graduated from the conservatory and then I try a link associating the sound and the environment I want to play.


Define your band in three words.
Playful, academic (but mostly for the bond we have with the classical harmony), and simple.


What kind of music you like and influence?
are five of us in the band, then everyone has their preferences. I personally am very attached to classical music ... more like punk, post rock etc..


What kind of audience you are targeting?
Our kind of music involves listening difficult: for this reason we turn for adults, mature, attentive to detail. It 'difficult for a teenager captures every nuance of our sound.


The instruments used are those of the classic rock bands?
Recently, the classical instruments that we used already, we have added horns, maracas, bells ... We often enriched with all the tribal sounds.


When did you realize that your way was the music?
I was born into a musical environment, surrounded by music since I was a child, so there was a moment in particular. Now, in addition to studying music, I have many musical projects in the pipeline, even in education.


When did the idea of \u200b\u200bforming a band?
The idea came to us when I attended high school in 2002, the creation of the band occurred spontaneously, due to the fact that among us there was a strong bond of friendship.
In 2007 alone, however, we began to compose original music, the first year we tried our musical identity.

I Moth are a indie-rock band Bari born in 2008 and composed by Michael Ventrella (vocals, guitar), Joseph Dentamaro (bass), Roberto Antonacci (vocals and guitar) and Fabio Letizia (vocals, drums). On March 5 they performed for the second night in Barletta AER Rock Festival and we took the opportunity to know them better and presentable.

On your myspace (www.myspace.com / falenabari ) is imposed in an image which depicts a child with a moth on the eyes, what is? Why did you choose the moth as a symbol of your band?
Some time ago we played in a room, in which a moth that had found a home we could not fly away. We did not have a name and then took this incident as a starting point to find one.
The moth eyes the child is not bad: it has the task of protecting the innocence from the horrors of the world.


themes of your songs deal with this, then?
not exclusively: they are free and very intimate. Those who play the advantage to be heard when the exhibits.
What we refer to often is the relationship between us and the outside world.

How is a your song?
The music is urgent, it is communication, therefore, a song is almost a call for help, he wants feedback from the outside. Usually a piece is born in a few seconds, and music and lyrics are born sometimes together, sometimes just before one o'clock the next.

Which famous band you'd like to collaborate?
Surely with Wilco and Sigur Ros.

How would you define your band?
do not like definitions. We play, we make music, labels do not concern us much.

you think with the advent of the Internet has changed how the relationship with the music?
Internet gives a lot of information, but not depth. It would be nice, however, still believe in the bond that forms between band and listener, that link takes you to follow the careers of musicians to which you are fond of. With the Internet, which makes it more enjoyable, there will be more famous band as before: Maybe I'm the last U2.

How you live your live performances?
With the experience we have learned to play first and foremost for ourselves. Who wants to feel our emotions we can, because if we are happy to play us, the public will come this our emotional charge.

If one day you had, however, become famous, and I hope so, as you would like to be remembered in the history of music?
Certainly we would like the Moth were seen as a band honest: he did not do anything new, but simply beautiful music in a genuine and sincere.

Carion ( www.myspace.com / carionband , http://www.youtube.com/user / carionband ) is one of Bari band formed in 2004 and made Vito "Vigos" Napoletano (vocals, guitar), Cristiano "Marvin" Laporta (bass), John De Marco (drums / backing) Roberto Calabrese (guitar) and Gianluca Schettini (synth / piano). The band's name (Carion) is unusual: where from?

Vigos : It 's a music box "Italianate." The idea came to the surprise of the music box: a box of tunes you do not know until you open it.

Yours is a pure rock sometimes enriched contamination: What artists inspired you?

Vigos : For most rock sounds come to mind Alice in Chains, the grunge 90s ...
Marvin: Yes, and add the alternative rock, also British.
Vigos : But for the more electronic sounds are inspired especially Depeche Mode, Jesus and Mary Chains ... all that kind that involves serious sampling.
Marvin : Beyond the Industrial music and even a little 'more extreme.

The decision to sing in Italian, then, despite your musical roots are British and American, what is due?

Vigos : We are in Italy and sing in Italian means to arrive before others what you want to say and convey. It 's true that by now you listen to a lot of foreign music, but somehow we have to represent a reality that exists, that of Italian music, although singing in Italian is more difficult, especially in the rock, because it is easier to pull out melodies vowels in English.
Marvin : In fact, if one becomes necessary, the last Italian rock bands dating back 10 or 15 years ago, for example the old Litfiba, the fears, Negrita, Afterhours.

Vigos : I hope a great return of rock'n'roll in Italy.
